Plant socks and mushroom socks

Mushrooms have quietly become one of the dominant motifs in independent sock design, riding the same wave that made them appear on every tote bag and enamel pin of the last few years. Fly agarics — the red ones with white spots — are the default, but the more interesting pairs get into genuinely obscure fungi.

Alongside them sits the houseplant sub-genre, aimed squarely at people whose personality is partly monstera: socks printed with specific identifiable species, often labelled, sometimes arranged like a botanical illustration plate.
